Emma and Matt’s Bartle Hall Wedding
How/ where did you originally meet?
We met when we both worked at Tesco together, over 8 years ago.
How did Matt propose?
We went for a weekend away to Manchester and stayed in a swanky hotel, all the while I was thinking it was a birthday treat. We went out for a lovely meal and some drinks and once we got back to the hotel, he proposed in our penthouse suite overlooking the city of Manchester. It was perfect and I loved the fact it was a huge surprise for me.
Why did you choose Bartle Hall?
We had attended numerous weddings the year before we chose Bartle and we wanted somewhere different to previous weddings we had been to. After viewing Bartle Hall, we fell in love with the Windsor suite and the grounds, no other venues we viewed compared.
What did you want your wedding to be like?
It sounds cheesy but it was everything we wanted it to be like…guests enjoying themselves, plenty of drinks flowing and lots of dancing, which we definitely got! Just people having a great time!
What was your favourite part of the day?
Matt – When we had the chance to have around 10 minutes to ourselves during the day, we were able to have a little stroll around the grounds on our own.
Emma – When I was sat at the top table during the wedding breakfast, it was then when I had the time to just look around and take everything in and appreciate it all.
Have you got any advice for future brides?
Although it might feel stressful in the run up to the wedding, it will all be worth it! You don’t even think about the potential stresses on the day, so be sure to enjoy yourself! And make a little time for just you and your partner on the day if you can.
Tell us about your honeymoon…
We went to Corfu for a week a few days after the wedding. It was perfect, we literally just ate, drank and sunbathed which is just what we both needed after the wedding planning. We’re also hoping to go to New York next year as the biggie!
What was important to you when choosing your photographers?
Professionalism, friendliness and people who wouldn’t judge our daft-ness…we got all of that and more with Eighth Avenue. After seeing them in action at a friend’s previous wedding, I said from that day that if I were ever to get married, I’d want them.
